Found an interesting article on Blah, Blah! Technology, called How Close Are We To Star Trek Technology?. Being the Sci Fi fan that I am, I was very interested in this article and it’s well worth the read.
Give it a read, it’s nice to see that we’re getting closer to the technology in Star Trek. It talks about matter transporters, warp drive, transparent aluminium, hypospray, universal translator, cloaking device, force fields, phasers and tricorders.

For awhile,I was concerned Star Trek was a dying franchise. Then JJ Abrams came along. Great touch. The scene with kid Kirk was too quirky in the movie, despite the fact that it was incredibly hot in the movie trailer. Star Trek XI breathed new life into this precious Roddenberry universe. I’d like to see all of this Enterprise cast returning for further outings. I grew up with the classic series. Heck, my father got us a color TV just so we could see Star Trek just about every Friday evening. At this moment, I’m stuck on these new actors. In MHO, they have absolutely breathed life to their characters and made them their very own. I, personally, am longing for more.
